TOOLBOX: SELF-AWARENESS

As a supervisor you have the biggest impact on your worker’s day-to-day stress.

You are both the biggest influencer of their wellbeing and the one that is most likely to notice when something is wrong.

It's an important role. You've got this and we've got you.

Supervisors are the #1 influencer of worker performance and wellbeing.

Your behaviour and actions have a big impact on the day-to-day stress of your workm8tes.

Your leadership style, how you communicate and you interact with your workm8tes - both individually and as a team all has an impact.

Your EQ (or emotional intelligence) is an important tool that helps you to understand yourself and your workm8tes - who they are and the challenges they face.

The result? Improved relationships, decision-making and team performance, leading to lower levels of stress in the workplace.

EQ has been shown to be more important than IQ in a leadership role.

Knowing your style, when it works, and when it doesn't is essential to being a great leader, and we've developed the tools to help you lead with (right) style, and build strong, stress-free and connected team8tes.

Use your noggin' - to understand your workm8tes

As a leader, you want to create a thriving and successful team. Your EQ helps you to understand yourself and others better.

EQ is so critical to success that it accounts for 58% of your job performance as a leader.

Technical skills and IQ do matter but EQ is twice as important for jobs at all levels.

Lead with (the right leadership) style

There are six different common leadership styles, each with their pros and cons.

Affiliative, coaching, commanding, democratic, pacesetting & visionary.

The key is to know what style to use to get the results you want.

Many think we have one leadership style, and we should stick to it. This is not true. There is a time and a place for each leadership style.

Know which style is right for you to achieve the results you want.

Keep an eye out for your M8

Think of it as m8tenance.

Regular maintenance and servicing will prevent a time consuming, costly and avoidable breakdown.

The best leaders always keep an eye out, and know what to do to tackle work-related stress before it gets out of control.

Know the signs, what to do and how to reconnect with an injured workm8te.
